Before filming starts on her next movie, America’s sweetheart, Grace Carradine, wants a girls’ night out. As she dons a disguise to evade the paparazzi, her brown hair isn’t the only deception, so is her upcoming marriage to her costar.Naval-pilot-turned-author, Sebastian "Bash" Baron finds his friends are pairing up and starting families. Given his history, he knows that life isn’t for him—even if the period romance he wrote is being made into a movie. Those stories only exist in fiction—or other people’s lives. Tagline: For a man who wrote fiction, Sebastian Baron hated lies, and Grace Carradine was one huge deception.

"I read an ARC of this in exchange for a honest review.

At first I didn't realize this was a third book in the series when I started this. I looked it up and found out. There were a few details that would have made me enjoy it more if I started the series from the beginning but I still loved every moment of it! Bash and Grace are just perfect together. I might just have to read the series from the beginning since I loved this one so much."

"When I had read the synopsis of this one, I drew me in.
*Military
*Romance (of course)
*Navy officer turned writer

When I started reading it though, I didn’t really connect with the characters. I then realized it was book 3 in a series, I think this may have been why I didn’t connect. Grace is a star trying to have a somewhat normal night out with friends when she happens upon Sebastian. Grace has an event that is going to happen in her life that once she meets Bash, she isn’t sure if she still wants it.

I did feel it was a bit rushed (I wish it had been longer) just for a more in-depth development of the relationship between Grace and Sebastian. I didn’t care for what I though was “insta-love” between the main characters.

I would recommend reading the prior to books before starting this one, just for the back story and for the other characters that are in the books."

Melissa Klein writes contemporary romance about everyday heroes fighting extraordinary battles. “Stay?”
“For just a while.”
She snuggled into his body. “I wish…”
“My grandmother had a saying about if wishes were horses.”
“I feel so guilty when others would kill to have my life. I’d trade it all for a little house in the suburbs and a family.”
His eyes widened.
Oh, crap. How had she let that slip? He could probably feel the noose tightening. “I didn’t mean I’m expecting something permanent to come from this.”
“Don’t be sorry. You were being honest, something I’ve been trying to get you to do. I was only wondering why you don’t quit acting if that was the life you want.”
“I won’t have to. One day no one will want me.”
“Anyone who doesn’t see your value is a fool.”
“Women have a short shelf life in Hollywood. I figure I’ve got less than ten years left in my career.”
“What will you do then?”
She shrugged. “Become someone else.”
“You’re very good at that.”
“Will you ever be able to forgive me? Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d go home with a man, much less anticipate that I’d…”
He arched an eyebrow. “Be forced to spend the next six weeks with him.”
“That isn’t what I was going to say. I didn’t think I’d have feelings for anyone again after David.”
Tension radiated from him. “I hate that his secret is hurting you.”
“Why, other than the fact you hate deception?”
“I want you all to myself.”
She’d lie to the world, but she couldn’t lead him on. “I wish things were different too, but that’s not in the cards. I made David a promise and I intend to go through with it.”
